Starr Tours know traveling with children is sometimes challenging compared to travelling on your own or with other adults. Starr Tours family travel trips are a bit different to our regular adventure trips.

We meet you on arrival at the airport and head out for family hiking, rafting, kayaking and exploring.

Family Tours

Top half of the South Island

11 days of experiencing the beauty and elegance of the top half of the South Island. This tour will involve journeying all over the top half of the South Island – from parts of Christchurch to Picton and Marlborough Sounds.

This tour will be sure to keep you on your toes – from venturing down the beautiful Kaikoura coast where you will be sure to see seals on the rocks to having a bit of fun or just relaxing at Hanmer Springs.

There are a few fun and different modes of transport included in this tour as a way of mixing it up and keeping it fun for the family - train rides and boats rides to name a couple.

Hahei Explorer

Trvel through the Karangahake Gorge and expreinece the tunnels and tracks from a bygone era, Visit the look out into Waihis Martha mine head for Hahei via the very popular beach resort town of Whangamata, no rest just yet there’s plenty of time for relaxing with a soak in the hot water at Hot water beach, drop your bags at the backpackers or Lodge accommodation before exploring the famous Cathedral Cove.

Wake the next day to the exciting Hahei Explorer boat or choose the more leisurely glass bottom boat and see the many marine life the exsist in the ocean below.

Spend the afternoon strolling the streets of Whitianga or have fish and chips on the beach before heading home.
